Dr. Kirk Jones is a native of Auburn, Alabama, and earned his undergraduate degree from Auburn University in chemistry in 2005 and his Doctorate of Optometry from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2010. He completed externship rotations at Vision America in Birmingham, Alabama as well as primary eye care rotations in Ft. Lauderdale and North Miami Beach, Florida.
Dr. Jones is a licensed and certified Optometric Physician in Alabama and focuses on primary eye care, including routine eye examinations, glasses, and contact lens fittings, refractive surgery/laser vision correction consultations, surgical pre, and post-operative care, and the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and injuries including infections, diabetic eye monitoring, and glaucoma care.
Dr. Jones is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Alabama Optometric Association. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Brittan, his son, Henry, and being with friends and family.

The Contact Lens Specialist provides assistance to the Optometrist in providing care to the patient by instructing new contact lens wearers on how to insert and remove contact lenses. The Contact Lens Specialist creates and fits customized contact lenses and recommends a contact lens solution that provides comfort, stability, and clarity the patient needs.
Enter/chart notes into the patient record, providing needed documentation for the Optometrist.
Order and receive contact lens for patients.
Keep up-to-date inventory of contact lens, contact lens solution, etc.
Prepare exam rooms for the Optometrist to perform exams on patients.
Perform doctor requested testing: VA’s, IOP, Color Vision, Visual Field Testing, Fundus camera, OCT.

Resolve any conflicts that may arise within the management staff and provide necessary coaching and discipline where appropriate.
Develop strategies and plans to keep organization staffed at appropriate levels and with necessary skill sets

Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or the equivalent years related experience
5 years of supervisory and customer service experience strongly preferred
Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office
Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.
Understands when to route inquiries to next level.
Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames.
Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes.
Proven ability to lead and develop a team and drive performance improvement, demonstrated by progressive increases in management responsibility.
Team player that develops strong collaborative working relationships with internal partners and can effectively engage and ability to build consensus among cross-functional teams.
